Update: Tuesday 30th November 2021
Kia ora,
From 11.59pm, Thursday 2 December 2021 New Zealand will move to the new traffic light system. Whanganui region will be in a Red zone.
As per our constitution, we fall under education. Our team at events will be double vaccinated. That also includes our Performing Arts Academy staff.
As we move into 2022 the way our events operate will change, and we will be following all government guidelines and requirements.
As we enter our 110th year, we will continue to provide quality performing arts opportunities for New Zealanders. To do this, those attending our events will need to follow these same guidelines.
We understand that this is a trying time for everyone and appreciate everyone’s cooperation to date with our events. We respect the decision that some have made to not be vaccinated, and as such, expect the same respect in return for our decisions as we maintain our duty of care to our student and competitors.
As always, if you have any concerns please contact us. We are still trying to navigate this new system ourselves so will endeavour to answer all questions as best we can.
We will update you, and our website with more information as we receive it.
Noho ora mai,
The WCS Executive Council.
* Our current contingency plan operates under the level system. We are working on updating this and plan to have our new plans updated in the coming weeks. Please note we will be following all update requirements set by the government.
